The Challenge
Le Méridien Lav is a 381-room resort on the Podstrana coast near Split, with a conference centre, a beach club, several restaurants and events all year. Its events team wanted one local partner for event sound, DJs and production, instead of briefing a new vendor for every event.
Our Solution
We became the resort's regular event production partner: a rotating seasonal DJ schedule for the pool terrace and beach, sound systems, wireless microphones and crew for conferences and galas, and DJ and lighting packages for private celebrations. Our base is 15 minutes away, so we respond the same day.
What is the venue like?
Le Méridien Lav is a Marriott-branded resort with 381 rooms on the coast at Podstrana, near Split. It has a conference centre, a beach club, several restaurants and an events calendar that runs all year.
That mix means sound is needed in very different places: the conference rooms, the pool terrace, the beach club and the ballroom.
What did the hotel events team in Podstrana need?
The hotel’s events team runs dozens of events each season, from small dinners to multi-day conferences with 500+ attendees. They did not want to brief a new AV vendor for every one. AV means the audio-visual side of an event: speakers, microphones, lighting and the people who run them.
What they wanted was simple to say:
- One partner who already knows the spaces.
- Someone who knows the hotel’s standards and works to them.
- Fast help when plans change at short notice.
What did we do?
Seasonal entertainment (May to October)
From May to October we programme regular DJ sets for the outdoor venues:
- Pool terrace: daytime sessions from midday, relaxed music for the resort
- Beach club: sunset sessions that build from chill to upbeat
- Special events: full production for themed nights, holidays and VIP evenings
Every DJ is briefed on the hotel’s brand and its international guests before they play. This is hospitality entertainment, not a nightclub. The music is there for hotel guests on holiday, so it has to fit the resort, not take it over.
Year-round events
The rest of the year is about the hotel’s own events calendar:
- Conferences: microphones, speakers and technical operation in the presentation spaces
- Gala dinners: background music, DJs and lighting for ballroom events
- Weddings: ceremony-to-party DJ and sound for couples who book the resort
- Private celebrations: birthdays, anniversaries and group events
For a conference, that means wireless microphones (microphones without a cable, so speakers can move around), a sound system for the room and a technician who runs it during the sessions.
Why being local matters
Our base in Split is 15 minutes from the resort. We can answer last-minute requests and swap equipment the same day, and our crew already knows every space in the hotel.
How does it work day to day?
The events team does not start from zero for each booking. Our crew already knows the rooms, so planning goes straight to what this event needs. In season, the DJ schedule rotates across the pool terrace and the beach club. When something changes at short notice, we can respond the same day.
