The Challenge
Blue Lagoon is a marina-front beach bar near Trogir, open from morning coffee to late-night DJ sets. One system had to play quiet ambient music in the morning and full DJ sets at night, outdoors, in wind, salt air and direct sun, season after season.
Our Solution
We specified weather-rated outdoor speakers with separate coverage for the beach, the bar and the lounge, wired a DJ input that takes over from the playlist, and we service the system at the start and end of each season. We also programme the venue's seasonal DJ residency.

Blue Lagoon is a beach bar and entertainment venue on the marina front near Trogir. In summer it is busy all day: coffee in the morning, afternoon crowds, sunset, then DJ sets into the night.
Everything happens outdoors. The speakers sit in the wind, the salt air and the direct sun, all season long.
What did the venue need?
Outdoor venues on the coast are hard on sound systems:
- Wind carries sound away. A level that works at 2 pm can be lost at 5 pm when the maestral picks up.
- Salt air corrodes standard equipment within a season.
- Sun degrades cables, connectors and speaker cones.
- Range: the same system has to play quietly at breakfast and loud at midnight.
What did we do?
Speakers built for the coast
Because salt and sun destroy ordinary equipment, we started with what the speakers are made of. We specified weather-rated speakers made for permanent outdoor installation on the coast: UV-resistant enclosures, marine-grade connectors and corrosion-resistant mounting hardware. UV-resistant means the plastic doesn’t break down in strong sun. Marine-grade connectors are made to survive salt air.
Three areas, one control point
The beach, the bar counter and the lounge seating each have their own coverage, so each works like a zone: an area with its own music and volume. During the day, staff balance the three areas from one control point. No technical knowledge is needed.
DJ nights without a gap
The evening DJ setup plugs straight into the main system. When the DJ starts, the playlist fades out and the live input takes over. When the set ends, the playlist comes back on its own. No equipment is swapped and there is no silence in between.
Looked after every season
We check and service the system at the start and at the end of every season.
How does the DJ residency work?
We also programme Blue Lagoon’s seasonal DJs. Every DJ is briefed on how the day builds:
- Afternoon: relaxed, background-level music
- Sunset: energy builds through golden hour
- Evening: full-energy sets
The roster rotates so the music stays fresh, but the brief stays the same. Guests get the same arc every day, whoever is playing.
