We run its resident DJ programme: a weekly rota of DJs picked for this venue, all working to one music identity, from lunch to late night. We also advised on the indoor and terrace sound, so the music reaches every table without bothering the neighbours along the waterfront.

The Challenge

Bokamorra on Split's Riva is a restaurant, cocktail bar and late-night venue in one. The music has to change from relaxed lunch to busy evening, and sound even across indoor and terrace zones without bothering the neighbouring waterfront.

Our Solution

We run Bokamorra's music as a residency: a weekly DJ rota, each DJ briefed on the venue's music identity, from afternoon sets that suit dining to evening sets that fill the terrace. We also advise on the sound system so coverage stays even indoors and outside.

What is the venue like?

Bokamorra sits right on the Riva. In one day it moves through several moods: long lunches, after-work cocktails, then late-night entertainment.

Each of those moments needs different music, a different energy and a different volume. A playlist that works at lunch is wrong at midnight, and the other way round.

What did a restaurant bar on Split’s Riva need?

Bokamorra did not want to book a new DJ every night and hope for the best. It wanted one partner who would:

Choose the right DJs for its guests and its room.
Look after its music identity, so the place sounds like itself whoever is playing.
Keep the sound at the standard of the room, inside and on the terrace.

What did we do?

A residency, not single bookings

We run the whole music programme as a residency. A residency means the same small group of DJs plays the venue week after week, instead of a different stranger each night. Here is how it works:

A selected roster. Not every DJ suits every venue. Bokamorra’s DJs know its guests and how the room sounds. They can read the change from dinner to late night and move the music with it.
One music identity. We built it together with the venue’s management. Every DJ on the roster works to it, so the style stays consistent from one night to the next.
Seasonal changes. In summer the terrace is the main room and daytime sets run longer. In winter the focus moves indoors and the mood is more intimate.

Sound advice

Good DJs still need a sound system that works for the room. We advised on the sound system so coverage is even across the indoor and outdoor zones. A zone here simply means an area with its own music and volume, in this case inside and the terrace. The other goal was to keep the sound from disturbing the neighbouring waterfront.

Beyond music

The work did not stop at the DJ booth. We have also created content for Bokamorra’s social media and supported special events and private bookings.

How does it run week to week?

The venue gets a weekly rota from the roster. Management does not have to brief a new DJ every night, because every DJ already knows the identity they agreed with us. When the season turns, the programme turns with it: longer daytime sets on the summer terrace, a more intimate indoor mood in winter.
