Spirito Summer Place
Spirito Summer Place is a seasonal lounge bar and restaurant in the Šibenik archipelago, reachable by boat. In 2023 we added new Bose FreeSpace speakers to the four speakers Spirito already owned on Tijat, all mounted in a single day. In spring 2024 we installed its Bose sound again at the new venue on the island of Kaprije. The sound runs in an indoor and an outdoor zone, with music from Meridian Chapters.

The Challenge
Spirito Summer Place, a seasonal lounge bar and restaurant reachable by boat, wanted new background sound that would work together with the four speakers it already owned — and the whole job had to be mounted on the island in a single day.
Our Solution
We supplied and installed four Bose FreeSpace FS2SE loudspeakers on a Bose FreeSpace IZA 190-HZ amplifier with two volume attenuators, mounted the venue's existing speakers on new brackets, and fed the system from a Meridian Chapters music player.
What is this island bar in the Šibenik archipelago like?
Spirito Summer Place is a lounge bar and restaurant: Mediterranean cuisine, wine and cocktails, open through the summer season. The venue started out in Tijašćica cove on Tijat. Today it welcomes guests on the island of Kaprije.
The venue is reachable by boat, and that shaped how we planned the work.
What did the bar need?
The first job came in 2023, while Spirito was still on Tijat. Spirito already owned four speakers and wanted to keep using them. The brief was to add new sound around them, not to start from scratch.
Being on an island shaped the plan:
- Keep the existing speakers — the four existing units had to work alongside the new system
- One day on site — everything had to be mounted and running in a single visit to the island
- Salt, sun and sea air — the speakers live right by the sea
- Power ready in advance — every outdoor existing speaker needed a 220 V feed, prepared by the venue’s own electrician before we arrived
What did we install, and why?
Speakers made for hospitality, on one amplifier
We built the system around Bose FreeSpace: compact loudspeakers made for background music in hospitality spaces. We added 4 new Bose FreeSpace FS2SE speakers, in black or white finish. They are driven by one Bose FreeSpace IZA 190-HZ amplifier, the box that powers the speakers. Two attenuators give staff a simple volume control. An attenuator is a simple control that turns a group of speakers up or down.
Island logistics: one day on Tijat (2023)
On an island, every extra trip costs time. So we asked the venue to test the old speakers and have power run to each outdoor position before the install day. That way the island visit could go to mounting only.
On site we mounted the existing speakers on new brackets and fitted the new FreeSpace loudspeakers. Then we commissioned the system, which means setting levels and checking every speaker on site, and trained the staff to run it. As on every installation we do, support continued after the handover.
A new venue on Kaprije (2024)
In 2024 Spirito moved to Kaprije, and in spring 2024 we installed its Bose sound at the new venue. Spirito asked us to put the sound where guests actually sit, including the tables and lounge bar seating around the pool.
Two zones, right on the sea
Spirito’s sound runs in two zones: indoor and outdoor. A zone is an area with its own music and volume, so the outdoor seating and the indoor space can sit at different levels.
Salt, sun and sea air are hard on electronics. Because the venue sits right on the sea, we took anticorrosion precautions and chose speakers that can withstand salt and sun.
How is the music played day to day?
Spirito’s playlists come from Meridian Chapters, our background-music service. They play through a dedicated music player connected to the system, so nobody has to plug in a phone. Staff set the level with the attenuators.
What changed for the bar?
Spirito has worked with us since 2023, across two venues. The Bose system went in on Tijat in 2023 and at the new Kaprije venue in 2024, and music has come from Meridian Chapters throughout.
The new Bose FreeSpace speakers and the venue’s own existing speakers run as one system. The Meridian Chapters subscription has continued season after season since, and the owner is happy with both the Bose system and the Meridian Chapters music.
How is the system set up?
