Kadinela Kaštela: Sound System for a New Restaurant
Kadinela
Kadinela is a restaurant in an olive grove above Kaštel Lukšić, in Kaštela. It was a brand-new building with no sound system at all, so we planned one from scratch. Since May 2023 the dining room and the terrace each play music at their own volume, from one Bose Professional system that we delivered exactly as quoted, before the restaurant opened.

The Challenge
Kadinela was a brand-new restaurant with no sound system at all. It needed one system for the indoor dining room and the outdoor terrace, with the volume of each area controlled separately.
Our Solution
We specified and installed a two-zone Bose Professional system from scratch: FreeSpace 3S satellites and a FreeSpace 3S subwoofer indoors, outdoor-rated FreeSpace FS2SE speakers on the terrace, two IZA 2120-HZ amplifiers and a ControlCenter CC-1 volume controller for each zone.
What did this new restaurant in Kaštela need?
Kadinela sits in an olive grove on the slopes of Kozjak above Kaštel Lukšić. Its terrace looks out over Kaštela Bay. The Mamić family first planned it as a tasting room for their olive oil, then built it out as an à la carte restaurant.
It was a new build. There was no old system to upgrade and no speakers to reuse. Everything had to be planned from the ground up, for two very different spaces: the indoor dining room and the open terrace.
The brief came down to three points:
- Sound for both spaces. One system had to cover the dining room and the terrace.
- Separate volume. The two spaces don’t always need the same level. Each space had to be adjustable on its own.
- Ready for opening. Because this was a new restaurant, the system had to work on opening day.
What did we install, and why?
Small speakers indoors, outdoor speakers on the terrace
As an official Bose Professional partner, we built the system on Bose Professional installed audio.
In the dining room we wanted good sound without big boxes on the walls. So we chose six small Bose FreeSpace 3S satellite speakers, which sit discreetly around the room. Small speakers like these don’t play deep bass on their own. A FreeSpace 3S subwoofer, a speaker just for the bass, fills in the low end.
The terrace is open to the weather. There we used three Bose FreeSpace FS2SE speakers, which are made for outdoor use, in black.
Two Bose IZA 2120-HZ amplifiers power the whole system. An amplifier is the box that drives the speakers.
Two zones, two controls
We split the system into two zones. A zone is an area with its own music and volume. Here that means an indoor zone (the dining room) and an outdoor zone (the terrace).
Each zone has its own Bose ControlCenter CC-1 wall controller. Staff can turn the terrace up or down without touching the dining room, and the other way round.
Installed before opening, exactly as quoted
We installed and programmed the system on site in May 2023, ahead of the restaurant’s opening. Later that month we came back to check it. The system was delivered exactly as quoted.
How do staff use it day to day?
Control is two wall controllers, one per zone. Staff don’t need to touch the amplifiers. They set the dining room and the terrace on their own CC-1, and that’s it.
As on every installation we do, we trained the staff on the system and continue to support it.
How is the system set up?
In plain terms: A zone is an area with its own music and volume. An amplifier is the box that powers the speakers. A subwoofer is a speaker just for the bass.

What changed for the venue?
Kadinela opened with sound already in place. The dining room and the terrace run on one Bose system, and each zone has its own volume control on the wall.
Since September 2025, Kadinela has been a venue for private celebrations rather than à la carte dining.
