Restaurant Level (Joker Split)
Restaurant Level, in the Joker complex in Split, is a restaurant by day and an event venue by night. Working with its interior designer, we installed Bose Professional speakers, Chauvet moving-head lights and a built-in Pioneer DJ controller, all set up to switch between the two modes together. Staff now change the whole room from dinner to a DJ night with one choice.

The Challenge
Restaurant Level in the Joker Split complex is a restaurant by day and an event venue by night, with live bands, cabaret and DJ sets. It needed sound and lighting that switch between the two, and that suit an interior of gold fixtures, marble and wood panelling.
Our Solution
With the venue's interior designer, we installed Bose Professional pendant and in-ceiling speakers on two PowerShareX amplifiers, eight Chauvet moving heads with programmed scenes, and a built-in Pioneer DJ station.
What is Restaurant Level in Split like?
The interior is gold fixtures, marble counters and wood-panelled walls. Anything you can see on the ceiling has to belong there, or it spoils the room.
The venue has to be two places in one:
- By day: a restaurant with quiet background music
- By night: an event space for live bands, cabaret shows and DJ sets
What did the venue need?
- Two modes. Sound and lighting had to switch between dining and events together.
- Fit the interior. Every visible speaker and light had to suit it.
- DJ-ready without rentals. DJs had to be able to play without bringing equipment.
We worked with the restaurant team and their interior designer from the start, so the equipment was planned into the design rather than added on top of it.
What did we install, and why?
Sound that suits the ceiling: Bose Professional
Because the interior is so detailed, we used two kinds of Bose speakers and let the design decide where each goes:
- Bose pendant speakers hang from the ceiling and spread sound evenly across the dining area.
- Bose in-ceiling speakers sit flush where pendants would not fit the design.
- 2× Bose PowerShareX amplifiers power the whole system and share power between channels as the load needs. An amplifier is the box that powers the speakers.
The system has two modes: a day mode at a conversation-friendly level, and a night mode with full output for DJs, live music and events.
Light that changes with the evening: Chauvet
We installed 8 Chauvet moving heads. These are stage lights that can turn, change colour and move their beam on their own. We programmed a scene for each kind of evening:
- Dining: warm, low light
- Live bands: focused stage light
- Cabaret: spotlights and movement
- DJ nights: full effects, synchronised to the music
A DJ station that stays in the room
A Pioneer DJ controller is built into the venue. Resident and guest DJs play without extra setup or rental equipment, which answers the third point of the brief.
How is it used day to day?
Staff do not need technical knowledge. They select the mode, and the sound and lighting change together. Day mode keeps the music low for dinner. Night mode opens up the sound and brings in the lighting scene for the evening’s event.
How is the system set up?
In plain terms: An amplifier is the box that powers the speakers.

What changed for the venue?
By day, guests hear background music at a level they barely notice. At night the same room becomes an event venue with one switch. DJ nights need no rental or setup time, because the controller is already there.
