Radisson Blu Split: Hotel Pool Bar Sound System

Radisson Blu Resort Split

Radisson Blu Resort Split wanted its outdoor pool area to be a quiet lounge by day and a party space for summer DJ events. We installed a permanent two-zone Bose Professional sound system around the pool bar and the daybed area, with streamers that play background music to the venue’s schedule. The same system now covers a calm morning by the pool and a summer pool party.

Radisson Blu Split: Hotel Pool Bar Sound System

A two-zone Bose Professional system with Meridian Chapters streamers lets the Radisson Blu pool area run scheduled background music by day and DJ events at night.

The Challenge

Radisson Blu Resort Split wanted its pool and bar area to work two ways: relaxed background music by day and DJ pool parties at night, on one permanent outdoor system that survives the coastal weather.

Our Solution

We designed a two-zone Bose Professional system: ArenaMatch Utility AMU208 speakers and an MB210 subwoofer at the pool bar, FreeSpace 360 II speakers in the daybed area, two PowerMatch amplifiers, and Meridian Chapters streamers for scheduled background music.

What is the Radisson Blu pool bar in Split like?

The hotel’s outdoor pool has a bar and a daybed area. It is outdoors all year, on the coast, so the equipment has to live with the weather.

The space does two very different jobs. In the day, guests lie on daybeds and want soft music in the background. On summer nights, the hotel hosts DJ pool parties that need real power and bass.

What did the venue need?

  • By day: background music that runs itself, easy for staff, always on during opening hours
  • At night: enough power and bass for DJ pool parties
  • All year: a permanent outdoor installation that survives the coastal weather

What did we install, and why?

Two zones, two jobs

We split the area into two zones. A zone is an area with its own music and volume, so the bar can be louder while the daybeds stay calm.

Zone 1, pool bar (main). Because this is where the parties happen, it needed weather resistance and power. We chose Bose ArenaMatch Utility AMU208 speakers, which are weather-resistant and built for large outdoor areas. For DJ events we added a Bose MB210 subwoofer, a speaker just for the bass. We also prepared two DJ positions at opposite corners of the pool, so the layout can follow the event.

Zone 2, daybed area. Because people come here to relax, it needed soft, even sound rather than a speaker pointed at them. We chose Bose FreeSpace 360 II speakers. They spread sound in all directions at a low level, which suits a relaxation area better than a pointed speaker.

Power with room to spare

An amplifier is the box that powers the speakers. Two Bose PowerMatch amplifiers drive both zones with headroom, so the sound stays clean at party volume instead of straining.

How is the music run day to day?

The background music runs itself. A streamer is a small player that runs background music without a phone or laptop. Meridian Chapters streamers play the background music on the venue’s opening and closing hours, so the music starts and stops with the venue.

Playlists for chill-out, party and pool events are ready. Staff switch between them without touching any technical controls. On DJ nights, the DJ plays from one of the two prepared positions instead.

How is the system set up?

In plain terms: A zone is an area with its own music and volume. An amplifier is the box that powers the speakers. A subwoofer is a speaker just for the bass. A streamer is a small player that runs background music without a phone or laptop.

What changed for the venue?

The same permanent system runs a quiet morning by the pool and a summer pool party. The music follows the venue’s schedule, so nobody has to remember to switch it on or off. Staff pick a playlist; they never have to touch the amplifiers.
