Bar Sistema
Bar Sistema is a cocktail bar in Split that had just grown into more space. Its old sound system was already flat out and still couldn’t fill the bigger room. We replaced it with six compact K-Gear speakers, a subwoofer hidden under a bench and one amplifier, and now the original bar and the new extension both get clear, loud-enough sound.

The Challenge
Bar Sistema had grown into a bigger space. The old sound system ran at 100% and was still too quiet and unclear on busy nights, with dead spots in the new area.
Our Solution
We designed and installed a K-Gear system: six compact GH 4 speakers, an XGS 12" subwoofer hidden under a bench and one GA41 amplifier, with music played from a tablet.
What is this cocktail bar in Split like?
Bar Sistema is a cocktail bar in Split. It had recently expanded into more space: the original bar plus a new extension. The sound system it already had was sized for the old room, and it could not cover the larger one.
What was wrong with the old system?
The old system was already running at 100%, and it still had four problems:
- Too little volume when the bar was full
- Muddy sound with no definition, so music turned into a blur
- No headroom left to turn up; headroom is the reserve a system has before it strains
- Dead spots in the new area, where the music barely reached
So the brief was simple. The bar needed clear, loud-enough sound in both the original room and the extension, without big speakers taking over the interior.
What did we install, and why?
Small speakers with enough power for a bar
We chose K-Gear because its speakers are compact but have enough output for a bar. That means they sit in the interior without dominating it, and they still get loud when the room is full.
We planned one zone. A zone is an area with its own music and volume, and here the bar plays one programme in both rooms, so a single zone keeps things simple.
The six K-Gear GH 4 speakers are split between the two rooms:
- 4× K-Gear GH 4 in the main bar, placed for even coverage
- 2× K-Gear GH 4 in the extension
Bass you hear but don’t see
Small speakers don’t play deep bass on their own. So we added a K-Gear XGS 12” subwoofer, a speaker just for the bass. We hid it under a seating bench, so the bass has no visible cabinet and takes no floor space.
One amplifier behind it all
One K-Gear GA41 amplifier powers the system. An amplifier is the box that drives the speakers.
Installed without closing the bar
We installed outside opening hours, so the bar did not have to close for the work.
How do staff run the music day to day?
The GA41 amplifier takes music from a tablet running Spotify. At handover we set up playlists for chill-out, party and background listening. Staff just pick the one that fits the moment.
How is the system set up?
In plain terms: A zone is an area with its own music and volume. An amplifier is the box that powers the speakers. A subwoofer is a speaker just for the bass.

What changed for the venue?
The bar now has the volume and clarity it was missing. On busy nights the system is no longer pushed to its limit.
The new extension has its own two speakers and plays the same music as the original room. The subwoofer adds bass without taking up floor space, and the small GH 4 speakers suit the interior.
