The Challenge
Blue Lagoon is a marina-front beach bar and entertainment venue near Trogir — a high-traffic summer destination with all-day operation from morning coffee to late-night DJ sets. The venue needed a sound solution that could handle the full daily cycle: quiet morning ambient, afternoon energy, sunset sessions, and full-power evening entertainment. Outdoor conditions — wind, salt air, and direct sun — demand equipment that performs reliably in harsh environments season after season.
Our Solution
We designed a weather-rated outdoor sound system capable of the full dynamic range Blue Lagoon requires. Compact speakers provide even coverage across the beach and bar areas, while a dedicated DJ setup handles evening entertainment with more power and precision. The system transitions smoothly from ambient playlists to live DJ sets without equipment changes. We also programme seasonal DJ residencies, providing a curated roster of DJs who understand the venue's beach-bar energy.
Beach Bar Sound
Beach and marina venues face unique audio challenges that indoor installations don’t:
- Wind dissipates sound unpredictably — what sounds perfect at 2pm can be inaudible at 5pm when the maestral wind picks up
- Salt air corrodes standard equipment within a single season
- Sun exposure degrades cables, connectors, and speaker cones
- Dynamic range — the same system needs to whisper at breakfast and roar at midnight
Blue Lagoon needed a system and a partner that understood all of this.
The System
We specified weather-rated speakers designed for permanent outdoor installation in coastal environments. The system provides:
Zone Coverage The beach area, bar counter, and lounge seating each have independent coverage that can be balanced from a central control point. Staff adjust zones throughout the day without needing technical knowledge.
DJ Integration The evening DJ setup connects directly into the main system. When the DJ starts, the ambient playlist fades out and the live input takes over — seamlessly, with no dead air and no equipment swaps. When the DJ finishes, ambient music resumes automatically.
Durability All outdoor components are rated for coastal conditions — UV-resistant enclosures, marine-grade connectors, and corrosion-resistant mounting hardware. We service the system at the start and end of each season.
The Residency
Beyond the hardware, we programme Blue Lagoon’s seasonal DJ entertainment. Our DJs understand beach bar dynamics:
