A restaurant opening night where the main dining terrace pulses with energy while the garden lounge two floors below carries its own distinct ambient playlist — that is the Multi-Zone Audio System at work. It pairs two Pioneer XPRS 122 12-inch powered monitors with a Bose S1 Pro Plus as a fill or DJ monitor speaker, delivering a combined 131 dB max SPL for events hosting 50 to 200 guests.

Experience Profile

  • Guest Count: 50-200
  • Setting: Restaurant and bar events, villa multi-zone celebrations, DJ performances, corporate functions
  • Atmosphere: Powerful and versatile — main system plus independent secondary zone
  • Why This System: When your event spans multiple spaces that each need their own audio personality. The Pioneer monitors drive the main area while the battery-powered Bose fills a ceremony, cocktail, or lounge zone independently.

The Multi-Zone Audio System pairs two Pioneer XPRS 122 12-inch powered monitors with a Bose S1 Pro Plus as a fill or DJ monitor speaker, delivering a combined 131 dB max SPL for events hosting 50 to 200 guests. This is the audio system we recommend for medium-scale Croatian destination weddings and events where a playlist or a DJ needs serious volume and clarity across a terrace, courtyard, or covered outdoor dining space — without the size and cost of a full PA with subwoofers. The Pioneer XPRS 122 brings professional live-sound power to a portable form factor: each speaker produces 1,000W RMS with onboard DSP that adapts to different deployment scenarios. Combined with the Bose S1 Pro Plus as a versatile third speaker — functioning as a DJ monitor, a fill speaker for a secondary zone, or a ceremony speaker running on battery — this set covers the audio needs of multi-phase wedding events where sound requirements shift between ceremony, dinner, and dancing.

What’s Included

  • 2x Pioneer XPRS 122 — 12-inch active two-way monitors, 1,000W RMS / 4,000W peak per unit, 131 dB max SPL, with onboard DSP and multiple EQ presets
  • Bose S1 Pro Plus — compact battery-powered speaker used as a DJ monitor, fill speaker, or ceremony/cocktail zone speaker
  • 2x tripod speaker stands for the XPRS monitors
  • All XLR cables, power cables, and a power distribution board

The Complete System Explained

The two Pioneer XPRS 122 monitors serve as the main PA speakers in this set. Each is a self-powered, bi-amplified two-way speaker containing a 12-inch woofer and a 1.75-inch compression driver, powered by a Class D amplifier delivering 1,000W RMS (4,000W peak). The onboard DSP provides multiple EQ presets for different deployment modes — main speaker, floor monitor, and stage monitor — and a high-pass filter that allows integration with an external subwoofer if one is added later.

The audio source — typically a DJ controller, laptop, or mixer — sends a stereo signal via XLR to the two XPRS monitors, one carrying the left channel and the other the right. The monitors are placed on tripod stands at head height (approximately 1.5-1.8 metres), flanking the event area to create a stereo sound stage.

The Bose S1 Pro Plus serves as the third component in the system, and its role depends on the event layout. In a DJ setup, it sits next to the DJ as a personal monitor, allowing the DJ to hear the mix clearly without turning the main speakers toward the booth. In a multi-zone wedding scenario, it can be placed in a secondary area (ceremony space, cocktail terrace, or dining area) on battery power, running independently from the main system via Bluetooth from a separate phone. Its 11-hour battery means it operates all day without a power outlet.

The combination of Pioneer XPRS power for the main event area and Bose S1 Pro Plus versatility for a secondary function makes this set particularly well-suited to Croatian destination weddings, where the day often moves between different areas of a venue — from a garden ceremony to a terrace cocktail hour to an indoor or outdoor dinner and dance.

Ideal For

  • Wedding receptions at mid-size terraces and courtyard venues for 50-200 guests
  • DJ sets where the main speakers need real power and the DJ needs a personal monitor
  • Corporate functions, product launches, and networking events
  • Restaurant openings and private dining celebrations with dancing
  • Any event requiring a step up from portable speakers but not a full sub-equipped PA

Not Ideal For

  • Events over 200 guests or those with a dedicated dance floor demanding sub-bass — upgrade to the Garden & Courtyard System with an 18-inch Pioneer subwoofer
  • Intimate events under 50 guests — the Terrace Ambient System with battery-powered Bose S1 Pro Plus speakers is simpler and more cost-effective
  • Events at venues with zero power access — the Bose S1 Pro Plus can run on battery, but the Pioneer XPRS monitors require 230V mains power

How It Works

We deliver and position the speakers at your venue. Setup takes approximately 20 minutes: the two Pioneer XPRS 122 monitors go on tripod stands flanking the dance floor or event area, the Bose S1 Pro Plus is placed near the DJ or as a fill speaker in a secondary zone, and cables are run from the audio source. You need 230V/50Hz mains power — two outlets or a single 16A circuit with our distribution board. Each XPRS monitor draws approximately 500W at peak. We handle island delivery logistics and coordinate ferry timing.

Sound Coverage and Venue Matching

The Pioneer XPRS 122 monitors deliver 131 dB max SPL per unit with a 90-degree x 60-degree dispersion pattern. A pair on tripod stands covers a wide range of Croatian venue layouts.

Outdoor terraces and courtyards: Position the two monitors 6-10 metres apart on stands at 1.5 metres height. This covers approximately 150-200 square metres at comfortable social and dinner volume, and 100-150 square metres at dance-floor volume. For a typical Croatian stone courtyard hosting 100-150 guests, this placement fills the space evenly.

Indoor function rooms: In enclosed spaces (hotel function rooms, villa dining halls, konoba restaurants), the XPRS monitors fill a room of up to 200 square metres. Room reflections from stone walls augment the sound naturally, so lower gain settings maintain clarity without harshness.

Multi-zone wedding scenarios: Use the XPRS monitors for the main reception area and the Bose S1 Pro Plus for a secondary zone (cocktail terrace, ceremony garden, or dinner area). The S1 Pro Plus runs on battery and connects via Bluetooth, so it operates independently up to 50 metres from the main system.

Guest count guidance: 50-150 guests is the comfort zone for this set. At 150-200 guests, the system performs well for dinner music and moderate dancing, but lacks the sub-bass impact that a dedicated dance floor demands. If your event includes a high-energy dance floor segment for 150+ guests, step up to the Garden & Courtyard System with its Pioneer XPRS 118 subwoofer.

Setup Timeline

  • Minute 0-5: Unload the Pioneer XPRS monitors and tripod stands. Position stands at the planned speaker locations flanking the event area.
  • Minute 5-10: Mount the XPRS monitors on the stands. Place the Bose S1 Pro Plus at its designated position (DJ monitor area, fill zone, or secondary zone).
  • Minute 10-15: Run XLR cables from the audio source (DJ controller, mixer, or laptop interface) to each XPRS monitor. Connect power cables to the 230V outlets or distribution board.
  • Minute 15-20: Power on the system. Set the DSP preset on each XPRS monitor (typically “Main” for front-of-house use). Play a test track and confirm even coverage. System is live.

For island events, we arrive on an early ferry with at least a 2-hour buffer before your event. The XPRS monitors are built for touring and transport well in padded cases on vehicle ferries. During peak season (July and August), we confirm vehicle ferry bookings on routes like Split-to-Hvar and Split-to-Brač as soon as the rental is finalised.

How This Set Compares

The Multi-Zone Audio System sits between the Terrace Ambient System at 150 EUR and the Garden & Courtyard System at 280 EUR. The Small set provides two battery-powered Bose S1 Pro Plus speakers for up to 50 guests — simple Bluetooth operation with no mains power required. It is the right choice for ceremonies, cocktail hours, and ambient background music.

The Large set adds an 18-inch Pioneer XPRS 118 subwoofer to the same XPRS 122 monitor pair, creating a full-range PA system with 135 dB max SPL and bass response down to 40 Hz. It handles 200-400 guests and delivers the physical bass impact needed for a dedicated dance floor. Choose the Large set when dancing is a central part of the event or when the guest count exceeds 200.

The Medium set occupies the middle ground: serious power for dinner music and moderate dancing, with the added versatility of a battery-powered fill speaker for multi-zone events. It is the right choice when you need more than ambient speakers but do not require dedicated sub-bass reinforcement.

Croatian Event Planning Guide

Season and weather: The Medium set is popular from May through October. Summer events in Croatia are predominantly outdoor, and the XPRS monitors perform well in open air. For events during the shoulder season (May, early June, October), afternoon rain showers are possible — position the speakers under a covered area or have a rain contingency plan. The speakers are built for touring conditions but should not be left in sustained rain.

Bura wind planning: The Pioneer XPRS 122 monitors weigh approximately 17 kg each, giving them reasonable stability on tripod stands. In Bura wind conditions common along the Makarska Riviera, around Split, and in the Kvarner region, we secure stands with weighted bases and safety straps. The Bose S1 Pro Plus, being lighter at 5.5 kg, requires additional securing or table-top placement in gusty conditions.

Island logistics: This set fits in a single vehicle for ferry transport to any major Croatian island. The Bose S1 Pro Plus component is particularly useful for island events because it can serve the ceremony or cocktail phase on battery while the XPRS monitors cover the mains-powered reception phase — all from a single delivery.

Venue power checks: The two XPRS monitors draw approximately 1,000W combined at peak, plus the S1 Pro Plus on mains if needed (negligible draw). Confirm that your venue has at least one 230V/50Hz outlet within 15 metres of the planned speaker positions. Standard Croatian 16A circuits (3,680W capacity) handle this set comfortably. For older Croatian villas with limited wiring, we bring a power distribution board and surge protector.

Noise considerations: At 131 dB max SPL, the XPRS monitors are capable of exceeding typical Croatian noise limits in residential areas (which usually apply after 23:00). For venues near residential neighbours, we recommend keeping levels moderate during evening hours and confirming local regulations with your venue coordinator.

Commonly Asked

Do I need a technician for the Multi-Zone Audio System?

Not for a standard two-speaker setup. The Pioneer XPRS 122 monitors have onboard DSP with presets for common deployment scenarios (main, monitor, floor). We set the correct preset during installation and provide a setup guide. For multi-zone configurations, a technician is recommended.

Can this set work outdoors in Croatia?

Yes. The Pioneer XPRS series is designed for portable live sound and handles outdoor conditions well. We routinely deploy these at open-air Croatian venues. Position the speakers on solid ground and keep cables secured — we provide cable covers for high-traffic areas.

What are the power requirements for this set?

230V/50Hz mains power. Total draw at peak is approximately 1,200W for the two Pioneer monitors. The Bose S1 Pro Plus can run on battery (11 hours) or mains. A single 16A circuit handles the full set comfortably.

How far in advance should I book the Multi-Zone Audio System?

For peak season (June through September), we recommend booking 2-3 weeks in advance. We carry multiple units of the XPRS 122, so availability is generally good. Island events benefit from earlier booking to secure ferry logistics.

Can I use the Bose S1 Pro Plus in a different zone from the main speakers?

Yes, and this is one of the key advantages of this set. The S1 Pro Plus runs on battery for up to 11 hours and connects independently via Bluetooth. Place it at a ceremony area, cocktail terrace, or brunch location while the XPRS monitors cover the main reception space.

What happens if a speaker fails during the event?

All components are tested before delivery. If a failure occurs, the remaining speakers continue operating. The XPRS monitors are independent — if one fails, the other provides mono coverage for the main area. The Bose S1 Pro Plus can step in as a temporary main speaker in an emergency. Our WhatsApp support line provides immediate troubleshooting.

Does island delivery cost extra?

Delivery to major islands (Hvar, Brač, Korčula, Vis, Šolta) is included in the base rental price. Remote islands with additional ferry connections carry a small surcharge. The exact amount is confirmed at booking.

Can I connect a DJ controller to this set instead of using Bluetooth?

Yes. The Pioneer XPRS 122 monitors accept XLR and TRS inputs from any DJ controller, mixer, or audio interface. The Bose S1 Pro Plus accepts XLR, TRS, and 3.5 mm aux. This set integrates with any of our DJ sets or with your own DJ’s equipment.
